The Business Box has been printing engineering drawings and blueprints for several years. Typically architects or construction companies send us PDF files and we print them out in sets on bond. Nice business for a local printshop - everyone is happy!
This morning Rob from McGee and Associates emailed to ask if I could create scans from a set of drawings. Had to check - hadn't tried that before.
Sure enough the Kip was set up to make PDFs from these 24x36 plans. We arranged for a time for him to drop off the plans in our front entrance, as per our Covid19 procedures. Opened up and what cool plans they were! Hand drawn architect drawings on velum of a beautiful older house.
Twenty minutes later we emailed the pdfs of the blueprints and Rob confirmed they were all good. Customer happy so we re-rolled them, scheduled a pickup time and left the originals back in the front.
At the end of the day, most of our blueprint revenue will continue to be from printing 24x36 Architectural Plans, other standard sizes. But I think West Islanders will be happy to know that if the need wide format scans, they can contact the Business Box to have them done quickly and economically. (and safely during this pandemic!)
