What type of Paper is used for Letterhead Printing?
Our standard letterhead stock is 24lb white offset. This is 20% heavier than bond (or photocopy paper) and has a smooth finish. Many customer differentiate themselves on paper by choosing heavier stock (28lb or 32lb offset, for example) Another choice to personalize letterhead is to print on textured stock like our Via Linen 28lb papers.
What does 24lb paper mean?
The weigh of the paper measured in pounds per 500 sheets of a larger sheeet... If 500 sheets of this size weigh 24 lbs, then it is classified as a 24lb bond. Unfortunately, nomenclature is confusing as this paper may also be call 60lb or 120m.
So what you need to know is
bond (copy paper) = 20lb OR 50lb OR 100m
24lb = 60lb = 120m (20% thicker than bond)
28lb = 70lb = 140m (40% thicker than bond)
32lb = 80lb = 160m (60% thicker than bond)
Letterhead can be printed on any of the above types of paper.
