Can I send Canva Files to The Business Box for printing?
Of course! If downloaded properly, Canva files are ready to go for print. The following steps should be taken once you are satisfied with your design.
1) Choose Share button on the top right of Canva page
2) Scroll down if necessary and select Download
3) Where it says File type, select PDF Print.
- Select Crop Marks and Bleed
- Select Flatten PDF
- Select All Pages
- In Free Version select RGB for Colour Profile or In Pro Version please select CMYK
- Finally, select Save download selections so you are ready for your next printing project at the Business Box
4) Hit the Download button and save your project as PDF, choosing appropriate name. If you save a subsequent revision, please change the name to differentiate the new file. Using a REV1 added to end, or using date in the name are options to make it easy. This ensures you send us the correct version!
5) This file should be good to go for The Business Box – West Island Printing to put into production.
Regarding Document Size
First a simple tip for Canva users. Although the Business Box is happy to print any size document, it is most practical for North American documents to fit the standard sizes, i.e, letter sizes of 8.5 x 11 or tabloid sizes of 11x17. Many Canva templates are created outside of North America, and have been set up to print in non-North America sizes, specifically A4 (8.27 x11.69 inches, which is like a tall skinny letter sized) or A3 (16.54 x11.69 inches). At the Business Box, we recommend checking the size before investing time into designing your document.
